Real Tamale United (RTU) communication officer Bawa Mugis has revealed the club is brimming with confidence ahead of the 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League season, insisting the Pride of the North are well-prepared and determined to fight their way back to the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking exclusively on Zangali 106.1 FM’s Sports Tonight show, Mugis revealed that the team has undergone an impressive preseason, highlighting both their attacking sharpness and defensive solidity.

“The club has played a series of preseason games which gave management and the technical team high hopes going forward,” he said. “Out of eight matches played, RTU won all, scoring 38 goals and conceding only 8. This underscores the team’s attacking prowess, strong defense, and solid midfield balance.”
Despite the positive statistics, Mugis added that the technical team is still working to fine-tune the squad to ensure they are “too solid for any opponent” when the league officially kicks off. RTU will rely heavily on consistency, having maintained the core of their squad from last season, including the deadly trio of Abdullai Rashid, Wisdom Jonas, and Bamon Blabala. The club has also made new signings to boost squad depth and inject more experience.

He also disclosed that the club’s Board Chairman has assured the team of full support, which he believes will serve as a huge motivation for the playing body.
“In all aspects, the club looks more than ready ahead of the season,” Mugis declared.
RTU will begin their Division One League campaign on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium against newly promoted Yendi Sankara Nationals. Gate fees have been set at ₵10 for regular and ₵20 for VIP.
