Kumbuyili, a community under the Sagnarigu Municipality in the Northern Region, is urgently calling on government, NGOs, and kind-hearted individuals to help renovate their only school, which is in a very poor state.
According to the school’s authorities, the current building was constructed in the 1990s and has not seen any major renovation since. They described the structure as unsafe, with visible cracks on both the walls and floors, making it dangerous for pupils, especially during the rainy season.
The headteacher shared concerns about the lack of desks, teaching materials, and proper classrooms, all of which are affecting effective teaching and learning. He appealed to the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly and other authorities to come to their aid.
The chairman of the School Management Committee revealed that they’ve reached out to local opinion leaders, the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Atta Issah, and the Municipal Chief Executive but no support has come yet.

He further mentioned that an NGO, Asontaba, visited and promised to assist in reconstructing the school if the community could raise part of the needed funds. Unfortunately, the community is struggling to raise that amount.
The people of Kumbumyili are, therefore, making a passionate appeal to all stakeholders to intervene and help provide a safer and better learning environment for their children.
