Member of Parliament (Mp) for Tamale North and Deputy Minister for Roads, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini, has disclosed that former Ghana Black Stars captain Andre “Dede” Ayew has committed to attending next year’s Alhassan Suhuyini Challenge Cup alongside top-notch football scouts to identify young talents in the constituency.

He revealed this during the closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of the Hon. Suhuyini Challenge Cup held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Kanvili R/C School Field in his constituency.

A total of 21 boys and girls clubs participated in this year’s tournament, showcasing impressive talent and competition. At the end of the event, Mawulolo FC and Nyanshegu Ladies emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories for the 3rd edition respectively.

During the ceremony, Hon. Suhuyini also pledged to absorb registration and officiating fees for all the participating clubs in the 2025/2026 season in their respective leagues, a move expected to provide significant financial relief to club handlers.

He emphasized that the collaboration with Dede Ayew is aimed at giving young footballers greater exposure and access to top academies and clubs both locally and abroad.

“Our priority is to create opportunities for young athletes to secure places in top academies and clubs within and outside the country,” he said.
