The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) has proposed May 3rd, 2025, as the kickoff date for the Division 2 Middle League. The league features eight teams, divided into two groups, competing for a spot in the Access Bank Division One League.
Group A consists of Tamale Real Galaxy, Steadfast FC, Dipanticha FC, and Buipe Scorpions, while Group B comprises Northern Zaytuna, Tamale Gangdu Stars, Sankara Nationals, and the winner of the pending protest case between Mole Nationals and Bole Super Stars. The winner of each group will advance to the finals, with the ultimate champion earning promotion to the Division One League for the next season.

However, the participation of Mole Nationals and Bole Super Stars in the league is uncertain due to the pending protest case. The winner of the case will remain in the league, while the loser will be eliminated. The matches will be played at four venues: Gushegu Astro Turf, Buzunu Astro Turf, Buipe Astro Turf, Karaga and Tolon Astro Turf.
The NRFA has urged clubs to adhere to all protocols and encouraged fans to maintain good behavior before, during, and after the games. The outcome of the protest case will have a significant impact on the league’s dynamics, and teams will need to be prepared for any eventuality.

The league promises to be an exciting competition, with teams vying for a chance to elevate their status in Ghanaian football. The NRFA’s efforts to promote football development in the region are evident in the organization of this league, which provides opportunities for local teams to showcase their skills and compete at a higher level.
