Quranic knowledge takes Center Stage in Tali, Tolon district

Tali Hosts Thrilling Quranic Recitation Competition, Fostering Community Engagement and Islamic Knowledge.

Sunday, February 23, 2025, marked the successful hosting of the Third (3rd) edition of the Quranic mobile recitation competition in Tali, Tolon District. Organized by Masjid Al Emaan, the event drew 15 participants, aged 8-25, who showcased their exceptional Quranic recitation skills.

The competition focused on specific chapters of the Quran, including Juz’ Amma, Mulk, Mujaa Dila, and A’laa. The top three winners received exciting prizes, such as Quran, bags, exercise books, lamps, branded T-shirts, and more.

Osman Abdul Manan, Abdul Somad Zakaria, and Yahaya Abdul Shakun emerged victorious in the A’laa, Juz’ Amma, and Mulk categories, respectively.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tali Kpanalana, representative of the Tali chief, expressed his enthusiasm about the competition’s positive impact on the community. He emphasized the importance of raising children with the guidance and teachings of the Holy Quran.

Former Assembly Member for Gberiman electoral Area, Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed, also showed his support for the competition, donating packs of bottled water and soft drinks. He urged sponsors and the Muslim community to support Masjid Al Emaan in expanding the competition’s scope.

As the initiative gains momentum, it is clear that its impact will extend beyond the competition, inspiring a new generation of Quranic reciters and promoting community development in Northern Ghana. The Quranic mobile recitation competition aims to increase Quranic engagement, curb social vices, and empower rural communities.
