Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, have arrived in Providence, Rhode Island, to begin the final phase of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The team departed Virginia on June 11 (Thursday) afternoon and landed at T.F. Green International Airport at approximately 6:00 p.m., with Head Coach Carlos Queiroz and his squad now shifting focus to their tournament opener against Panama.

The Black Stars are scheduled to resume training on Friday as they fine-tune tactics and fitness ahead of their opening Group L fixture. Ghana concluded a week-long training camp in Virginia after their international friendly against Wales in Cardiff. The camp featured intensive training sessions at American University and D.C. United’s training facilities, as well as a farewell dinner with members of the Ghanaian community in Alexandria.
Ghana will continue preparations in Providence before travelling to Toronto for their opening World Cup match against Panama on June 17 at Toronto Stadium. The Black Stars will then take on England in Boston on June 23 and Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27 to complete their Group L campaign.

The 26-man squad includes captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Iñaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who is preparing for his second consecutive FIFA World Cup appearance.
