Ghana Premier League side Karela United have begun a major squad reshuffle as part of preparations for the upcoming season, with a total of 13 players set to depart the club.
According to the club’s Public Relations Officer, Sey Mubarik, ten players will leave by mutual agreement, while three others will be sent out on loan to gain experience elsewhere.
“In reshaping the squad, we believe these changes will help us build a more competitive team for the new season,” Sey Mubarik revealed on Zangali Sports Bulletin. “It’s not just about numbers, it’s about quality and direction.”
Karela United have already confirmed the acquisition of three new players in the ongoing transfer window. Defender Joseph Quansah (24) and midfielder Issah Hussein (21) have both joined from Division One side Young Apostles FC, while former Bechem United midfielder Malik Abubakar has also been signed on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell.
Head coach Amadu Nurudeen, whose six-month contract had expired, has agreed to stay on and continue leading the team.
More signings and a full list of departing players are expected to be announced in the coming days.
