The Fourth (4th) edition of the Vibrant Quranic Mobile Recitation Contest was held in Bimbila in the Northern Region to Promote Youth Engagement and Islamic Education

The fourth (4th) edition of the Quranic Mobile Recitation Competition was held on Saturday May 24, 2025 drawing a spirited turnout and showcasing the growing enthusiasm for Islamic education among the youth. Organized by Masjid Al Emaan, the event brought together 44 participants, both boys and girls aged between 8 and 25 who demonstrated exceptional skill and passion in Quranic recitation.

The competition featured recitations from selected chapters of the Quran, including Juz’ Amma, Surah Al-Mulk, Surah Al-Mujadila, and Surah Al-A’la. Top performers were awarded prizes such as Qurans, school supplies, Certificate of participation, lamps, branded T-shirts, and more.

Speaking at the event, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bimbilla, Hon. Abdul Somed Hamza, praised the initiative and pledged GHC 500 in support. He urged participants to value the competition, emphasizing its role in shaping the lives and futures of young people. He further noted that such initiatives serve as a positive force, steering youth away from harmful habits like drug abuse.

Alhaji Yussif Fuseini, Executive Director and lead organizer, outlined the competition’s three-fold mission: deepening Quranic engagement, combating social vices, and empowering rural communities. “We want to encourage both parents and children to build a strong connection with the Quran,” he said. “Through this initiative, we’re not just promoting religious knowledge—we’re providing a platform for rural youth to shine and grow.”

Alhaji Fuseini also highlighted logistical challenges, particularly transportation, as a barrier to expanding the program. He appealed to individuals, organizations, and government agencies to support the initiative by donating a minibus to facilitate travel to remote communities. Donations and inquiries can be directed to their official contact: 0241403957.

The competition has been warmly received by the local communities, with many expressing appreciation for the opportunity it provides to strengthen faith and unity through Quranic learning.

Looking ahead, Masjid Al Emaan aims to broaden the program’s reach across more districts, seeking strategic partnerships with local bodies to ensure its sustainability and long-term impact.
