Three people have been confirmed dead following a road traffic collision involving a Yutong VVIP bus and a Toyota Sienna at Yikurigu near Zebilla in the Upper East Region.
According to a report by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the accident occurred on Saturday, June 13, 2026, along the Bolgatanga–Zebilla–Bawku highway.
The GNFS said the Yutong VVIP bus was travelling towards Bawku, while the Toyota Sienna was heading in the opposite direction towards Bolgatanga when the collision occurred.
The Service reported that three occupants of the Toyota Sienna—a man, a woman and a child—died at the scene.
Three male occupants of the Yutong VVIP bus, including the driver, sustained injuries and were transported to the Zebilla Hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the accident has not yet been established. Authorities have commenced investigations to determine the circumstances leading to the crash.
