The Kurugu Zugu Supporters Channel, the vibrant and dedicated supporters’ union of Real Tamale United (RTU), has issued a public letter commending the club’s CEO, Mr. Zakaria Safianu, for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the club’s development and success.
The group praised Mr. Safianu’s role in driving the team’s performance both on and off the field, highlighting his strategic vision, commitment to nurturing young talent, and deep engagement with the RTU fanbase and wider community. “Your vision and tireless efforts have significantly contributed to the team’s success, fostering a sense of community and pride among our supporters,” the letter stated.
According to the supporters group, Safianu’s leadership has been instrumental in stabilizing the club, implementing impactful initiatives, and guiding RTU to the playoffs this season, where the team narrowly lost 2-1 to its opponents. His leadership style , marked by teamwork, discipline, and innovation has earned him widespread admiration and respect among club stakeholders.
The Kurugu Zugu Supporters Channel also reaffirmed its support for the extension of Safianu’s mandate as CEO, citing his crucial role in the club’s future success and sustainability.
Beyond their vocal backing, the Kurugu Zugu Supporters Channel has played an active role in uplifting team morale throughout the season. Notably, they initiated and sponsored a monthly “Player of the Month” award—featuring a commemorative plaque and a cash prize of GHC500—from the beginning to the end of the season.
This initiative recognized and rewarded outstanding player performances, motivating the squad and deepening the bond between fans and the team.
“We appreciate your hard work and commitment to Real Tamale United Football Club,” the letter concluded. “We look forward to seeing the club continue to thrive under your leadership.”
