The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) Chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo, has rewarded the region’s U-15 team with a cash donation of GH₵3,000 and medals following their triumph at the GFA Elite U-15 Inter-Regional Championship in Accra.

The Northern U-15 side defeated Ashanti Region 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram last weekend to emerge champions.

As part of the rewards, the technical team, led by Coach Alhassan Abdul Rashid, received GH₵1,200, while the team’s Technical Director, Baba Nuhu Malam, was given GH₵500.

Certificates were also presented to outstanding performers, including the tournament’s overall best player Sulemana Shamsudeen, who won three MVP awards during the competition and Abubakari Kamil, who collected two MVP awards.

The gesture, according to Alhaji Rhyzo, was to motivate the young players and their handlers to continue striving for excellence.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 6, 2025, and was held jointly with the coronation of the NRFA U-15 Girls champions, Dakpema Ladies, and the NRFA Division 1B champions, Faako Ladies FC. Both clubs received trophies and medals for their exceptional performances in the 2024/2025 season.
