Steadfast FC have secured qualification back to the Access Bank Division One League after emerging champions of the Northern Regional Division Two League.
Steadfast defeated Northern Zaytuna FC 3-1 in the final played at the Salaga Astro Turf on Saturday, May 9, 2026, to book a place in the Division One League Zone 1A for the 2026/2027 season.

Steadfast FC, regarded as one of the leading privately-owned clubs in Northern Ghana, bounced back strongly after suffering relegation during the 2023/2024 campaign. The club had narrowly missed promotion last season after losing the playoff final to Sankara Nationals FC.
Under the leadership of Haruna Iddrisu, who is the Member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency and Ghana’s current Education Minister, the club has developed several notable talents, including Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who plays for Leicester City FC and the Ghana national football team.

A total of 52 Division Two clubs across the Northern Region began the race for the region’s sole Division One qualification slot, with Northern Zaytuna FC and Steadfast FC reaching the grand finale. Steadfast FC eventually emerged victorious to secure qualification into the Access Bank Division One League Zone 1A for the 2026/2027 season.
